Evaluation of the Psychometric Properties of the Persian Version of the Women's Spiritual Health Questionnaire: A Researcher-Made Version based on the Piety Word

Purpose: Health is one of the variables that have an important and effective role in other psychological characteristics, and examining spiritual health as one of the dimensions of health in Iranian society is of additional importance given the cultural and religious context. Therefore, the present research was conducted with the aim of evaluation the psychometric properties of the Persian version of the women's spiritual health questionnaire based on the piety word.
Methodology: This study was a descriptive from type of correlation. The research population was female university students and staff at the University of Tehran. Out of 118 people who volunteered to participate in the study, numbers of 88 people were selected as samples with using purposive sampling based on the inclusion criteria. The instrument of the present study was a researcher-made questionnaire of women's spiritual health based on the piety word with 40 questions. The data of the present research were analyzed using exploratory factor analysis in SPSS software.
Findings: The findings of the present research showed that the researcher-made questionnaire of women's spiritual health based on the piety word had 37 questions in four components of cognitive behavior piety (9 questions), personal behavior piety (9 questions), social behavior piety (9 questions), and religious behavior piety (10 questions). The validity of the aforementioned questionnaire was examined using exploratory factor analysis, and the results indicated the existence of four factors or components, and the reliability of all four components using Cronbach's alpha was higher than 0.70. Also, the level of cognitive, personal, social, and religious behavior piety in female university students and staff was higher than the hypothetical average.
Conclusion: Given the appropriate validity and reliability of the researcher-made questionnaire of women's spiritual health based on the piety word, health professionals and planners can use the aforementioned tool alongside other tools to measure women's spiritual health.
