Abstract

Objective: Positive education is a contemporary approach to schooling that emphasizes strengthening students’ cognitive, emotional, and social resources, with the aim of enhancing learning, well-being, and personal flourishing. The present study sought to identify the core components of positive education.

Method: This qualitative study was conducted using a documentary research approach and a systematic review method, and the data were analyzed through content analysis. The research population included printed, non-printed, and digital resources related to positive education and positive psychology. The research findings were selected through purposive sampling using a note-taking technique and collected from 2000 to 2018 using the keywords positive psychology and positive education from accessible and معتبر academic databases such as Elsevier, PubMed, Google Scholar, and ScienceDirect. The extracted data were then analyzed using inductive content analysis, and their validity was assessed using Lawshe’s content validity ratio (CVR).

Results: The findings led to the identification of 17 key components: hope, optimism, spirituality, happiness, goal setting, gratitude, positive emotions, forgiveness, resilience, positive mood, flexibility, positive relationships, physical activity, strengths-based focus, altruism, and art.

Discussion and Conclusion: The results indicate that education grounded in these components can significantly improve students’ academic performance and personal development by enhancing motivation, increasing concentration, and improving social skills and creativity. This framework can serve as a guide for designing curricula and educational interventions based on positive psychology in schools.
